Basal Ice, Debris Flows, and Channel, Kviarjökull, Iceland, 1997

The debris-covered ice on the right contains debris which it releases by melting. This sediment falls directly onto the slope where the folks are standing and some of it moves directly into the stream (which is coming from the fountain). This demonstrates how complex the sediment associations can be in the ice margin area.
